Native Plant Sale This Weekend!
This weekend is Collingswood's annual Green Festival, and we're excited to set up shop there selling a selection of wildlife-friendly native plants. We'll have several wildflower and shrub species on hand as well as 10-lb. bags of NJ Audubon S.A.V.E. Black Oil Sunflower Birdseed, which is grown by Jersey farmers who establish 1 acre of grassland habitat for every 5 acres of sunflowers planted. We'll also be taking pre-orders for pollinator garden kits for both full sun and shade!We'll be set up alongside the Collingswood Community Habitat Project, where you can learn more about how to become part of this amazing National Wildlife Federation program. We can chat about how we earned our NWF Backyard Habitat Certification, and Stephen Coan, our team leader and a local ecological landscape designer, will be on hand to answer your questions.The Green Festival is this Saturday, April 8th from 9-2 in downtown Collingswood (Irving Ave. between Haddon Ave and PATCO).Here's a selection of what we'll have on hand:

Pollinator Garden Kits for Pre-Order
We'll also be taking orders for kits to establish an instant garden on a patch of lawn or in a neglected bed. ?These kits make use of landscape plugs as an economical way to create a robust bed all at once. ?They?ll take a little longer to fill in, but cost less than half to fill a full bed as full-sized containers would.We?re offering full-sun and shade kits, and each will offer blooms throughout the growing season and provide food and shelter for a wide variety of native butterflies, moths, bees, and birds. ?Each kit comes with planting instructions, design tips, and a sample layout.The 25-plant kits will cover about a 25 square-foot bed (5?x5?), and the 50 plant kits will cover 50 square feet. They'll be ready for pick-up or delivery Saturday, May 13.
