How we curate our kits

Kits include neonicotinoid-free deep root landscape plugs, and species are carefully selected with a variety of factors in mind:

  • One of our primary considerations when designing and sourcing most of our standard kits is bloom time for the plants include. Our pollinator kits feature species with bloom times from April through October, boosting the benefit and beauty of your garden.

  • We often say that Monarchs and milkweed is the gateway to a greater understanding and eventual obsession with habitat gardening. But we are very intentional about selecting plants that support the lifecycles of the highest number of species. This is one reason asters and goldenrod are often found in them.

  • We choose deep root landscape plugs grown by reputable native growers, and whenever possible we’re choosing species known to be easy to grow. Our customers’ success impacts the success of our earth, so we take it seriously.

  • We work with reputable growers of native plants that are leaders in the industry and grow plants with healthy root systems and none of the scary chemical crap that hurts the ones we’re trying to protect.
